The Dragon Quest is an unused game concept, I developed together with a co-worker during my internship at the company Family Quest. To test our creativity, we had to come up with this new concept in the first 48 hours of my internship.
The story was as followed: Hundreds of years ago, there were once dragons on a planet far, far away. They took everything they saw from its inhabitants. To keep what is theirs, the people built an army of giant robots to defeat the dragons. After one final battle the dragons finally retreated and there was no need to keep the force anymore. But the dragons do not give up that easily and they deiced to try again and search for a new planet.
One family decided to follow the dragons to make sure they don't bring the same destruction to other planets and help wherever the new attack will be.
It's an AR based game for children, where the parents have to place QR-codes around their home or playing area, preferably on toys or trash that should haven been clean up by the child. If the child scans the QR-Code with a smart phone or tablet, an AR-dragon will appear on the screen. The kid fights the dragon by swiping over the screen. Once the dragon is defeated, the child has to remove the QR-codes and clean up what lays underneath, otherwise the dragon would "come back". For every defeated dragon, the child would get an in-game upgrade and a blue print of the update, so it can built it out of cardboard together with a cardboard suit to support the immersion.
I made a small character sheet for the character who would guide the player through the game, and a storyboard of a basic play through.
